Over the last 1.5 days the most common question is "Will there be more stretch goals". The simple answer is no. Lots of people will ask why not, but I for one think its a good thing - here's my take. There's a team at MCDM that has spent a large amount of time and energy working on getting us to this point. The team has fulfilled several big Crowd Funding Campaigns and has general idea what it entails from both an effort and time stand point. They set the primary goal for core books out to 2025 because its realistic. They set up 2 stretch goals that they would like to do, but would require more money and importantly more people. These stretch goals are not to deliver a product in 2025 but to start developing a product. They do not have to compete or synchronize with the primary campaign goals. People are used to campaigns piling on stretch goal promises to give them more for their money. This can be a great way to increase the value proposition. In my experience the more stretch goals a campaign has the longer it takes to fulfill and the more likely it is to never deliver. Making more stuff, taxes the resources and systems that will deliver on the primary goal. Offering more 3rd party (think shirts, minis, maps) would increase the logistical time and complexity for the production team and/or pull focus from the art team. We did it. Its going to be a great campaign to follow for the 1.5 - 2 years. I do not expect Matt will go out and buy a yacht named Somnium Tenebris or install a roof top pool deck at the office with additional funding; but instead MCDM (the company) will shore up the commitments they have made so far and invest in the product lines of the MCDM RPG for the future. Lots of great things can still happen with the extra money but historically its gone back into products one way or another.

Project Update: Ajax Edition - Second Wave

Hey Everyone,

Your amazing support has given us a roadmap where we spend the next two years working on this game. We underestimated how popular the Ajax Edition would be and were overwhelmed by the response yesterday. After speaking with our manufacturing partner late last evening we are confident that we will be able to produce a second wave of Ajax Editions for those who missed the first wave. The second wave will ship after the first wave because a human needs to pack each one of these and that takes time.

There will not be a third wave as we are unable to produce and deliver additional units.

We have added a wave 2 of Ajax to the pledge tiers here: Ajax Edition - Second Wave

One thing I'm hoping for in MCDM support is really high quality adventures and things that are ready out-of-the-box to run. In contrast to say... a major publisher who consistently publishes half-finished "adventures." With things like cheat sheets to running complex adventures or political interactions.

If the game system is d6 based I would like to suggest using Doublesix Dice. If dice details have already been settled then perhaps for a future offering. For those that may not know doublesix dice are 12 sided dice that have 1-6 displayed twice on them. 12 sided dice roll better than a typical d6 die and avoids the problem of those players that like to do the drop on number rolls.

Having a completely in-house VTT is cool, but a lot of groups won't want to learn yet *another* software/website to work with, and while I'm sure you can put together a great one in time, it will take a while and will probably start out very barebones. Are there any plans to add support for current external VTTs, especially with the level of customization that exists with some of them?

Hi, very excited for the game and happy to finally be backing it! I didn't really have much in the way of questions or suggestions or whatnot at this stage, except for one thing: PLEASE have Guillaume Bonnet (aka the shirt art artist) do more art for the game! I first discovered them when they made that class art, and it really resonated with me and and the way I imagine "heroic fantasy". All of the art that has been shown off so far is fantastic, but that kind of Final Fantasy Tactics/Strategy JRPG-inspired look is my favorite and something I feel is sorely underrepresented in the tabletop space. Ultimately a selfish request, I know, but I just wanted to express my desire for more from the collaboration. I'm definitely getting the shirt!
