Project Update: Future Apparel Thoughts
Now that everything has settled down a bit, I've been brainstorming with my pal Charmsey about future clothing collaborations and we have SO many ideas. Both of us are really tickled by these midcentury paintings and others like them and would like for these to be a huge source of inspiration going forward.
That said, Charmsey doodled up a really quick proof of concept sketch last night and I think its adorable! She absolutely nails that ephemeral, watercolor look that I love so much.
My initial thought was a nice, cozy sweatshirt with snughouls dancing/playing/up to various shenanigans on the front and sleeves. Maybe one design can feature bats and mothmen, and another werewolves and beelzebears? Or maybe just one species per design! Let me know your thoughts-- we're 100% open to ideas and feedback here.
I'd love to know what types of apparel are most appealing to you as well. Hoodies, t-shirts, cardigans, etc. This will help us narrow down our options when it comes to what we focus on first.
Project Update: Funding Summary & Prototype Update
Hey Everyone! 👋
I hope you're doing well and had a very wonderful Krampusnacht week. This is a short update, but an important one! We have reached 19 backers as of 12/12/2023, and we are 24% funded!
We will also be receiving a plush build update soon - hopefully this week! Updates on the design will take a while as we figure out the exact colors and shapes needed to make the design just right, so keep an eye out for polls to help make design choices as we move forward.
Stay Warm and Merry Krampus!

Project Update: HEADS UP: Limited Were Bundles!!
This update is specifically for my LIMITED bundle backers (so this applies to about 100 of you!)
I'm working on getting your plushies out asap, but in order to do so I have to lock your orders and collect any outstanding balances so I can push things along to my shipping API.
I don't want to surprise anyone with an unexpected charge, so if you owe anything in the the pledge manager, these funds will be collected FRIDAY.
Don't worry if you're not done editing your order or plan to add things later on! I will make sure all orders are unlocked again before the last call/plushies go into production. This is just the only way to send out in-stock plushies early.
Thank you for bearing with me during all these delays! I'll be packing this week so all the limited bundles are ready to go as soon as I have a shipping label to slap on them 🙏💖
(And again, this only applies to LIMITED bundle backers! If that isn't you, feel free to disregard this update.)
Project Update: New logo reveal! (And some autumn pals have arrived...)
I've finally kicked the crud and I've been getting back to work this week. I'm full of ideas so it couldn't come a moment too soon. First up is the new logo to match our rebrand!
I will likely continue tweaking things a bit before hang tags go to print, but I think it captures the spirit of the old one pretty well as it stands.
Our autumn friends Wispy Winds and Pumpkin Patch have also made their first debut!
Please note that the colors here are not 100% accurate. They've been photographed under florescent lights and have a slight green/blue tint. The physical plush will be warmer in color. I've also edited the pictures slightly to show my manufacturer the changes that need to be made.
I'm VERY happy with them overall though, and surprised so few changes are needed!
Now onto what else you can expect this month(at the very least):
- Rotwell shaker keychain sample!
- I'll be vetting some tote bag manufacturers and will hopefully have some sample photos to share.
- Maaay be adding a few additional tote bag designs as well?
- Finished (or very close to finished) character art for every snughoul!
- Some high quality meat pop photos to better showcase their colors.
I'll leave you with the finished art for these four cuties that I forgot to share sooner 💖
Project Update: Progress Update!
Hello everyone, it's been awhile! November was a very busy month--quality checking was very intense with the larger orders. While I had hoped to get every out earlier, fulfillment is currently on track with the original timeline, which predicted everything to be mailed out before the end of December. Above is the BackerKit tracker for full transparency.
Some information on fulfilled orders:
- ALL international orders have been mailed (over 100 orders to over 20 countries!)
- ALL orders of 5 or more plushes have been mailed
- MOST orders of 4 or more plushes have been mailed
When your order is mailed, you will receive an email notification with your tracking number and/or customs information (please note that some countries do not provide tracking information). If there are any issues with your order, you are welcome to reach out to me directly at: [email protected]
There are still 5 people who have not completed their surveys. You must complete the survey to receive your items! Surveys must be completed before January 15th to ensure that I can fulfill your order.
That's all for now--thank you again for your support and patience with this project.
Project Update: Today we fund, tomorrow the universe!
The campaign ended today, we'll be in touch soon as we switch into order management and fulfillment.
You rock!

Project Update: First batch of orders sans [magenta/marbled toys] have gone out!
A few quick updates on Nightmare-Chan.
So I just dropped off all orders that don't have a magenta or marbled figure as part of the rewards. Meaning if you only ordered pins, shirts, or robin's egg or glow lime toys, you should be expecting your package within a week or so (although TBH, not sure how fast UPS will get to the frozen tundra of Ontario, my Canadian friend).
The other update: I heard from Mile High that hopefully a new mold will be here in a few weeks. I'm taking that to mean "January or February" given the speed of mold making last time, but as long as we make it before all the early-year holidays (Lunar New Year, Golden Week, etc) that shuts down work in China, we should be solid.
Thanks again for your patience, and I'm working on the first painted release (a micro run of 5-6) to drop at DesignerCon in two weeks(!). If you're planning to stop by, I'll be at booth 1725 right by the larger Hollywood 100 gallery. I'll also have some one-offs, which you're seeing here first!
Hope y'all are having a good winter so far, and hope everyone is staying nice and toasty!
I don't likely expect there to be much news until next year, so if I don't talk to you before then, Happy Winter Holiday of your celebratory choosing!
Thanks again,
Rick
Project Update: The big update update!
Moonlight Mothman and Fairy Floss Bat are pretty much complete! Dazzle Heart is also virtually done, but the material on the tail needs to be swapped to the material on the ears. Otherwise they're all looking spectacular and I can't wait to see them in person.
Twilight is VERY close to done, we're just doing a little bit of color correcting and trying to source a tie-dye fabric that more closely matches the concept art.
Last but not least for this batch of plush updates is Rancid Heart Beelzebear! I actually gasped a bit when I saw his cute, fluffy eyebrows. They look so perfect.
The edits here mostly involve color correcting and altering a few details that didn't translate well into 3D. Overall fairly minor things though, so I'm confident Rancid Heart will look perfect in another revision or two.
I've received a lot of questions about the Rotwell shaker keychain so I'm especially happy to share that the art is complete and I ordered some samples this week! They'll be about 3" tall with a cute, blue lobster clasp. I hope to have pictures of the completed keychain by mid-december or so.
