Presented with premium quality production value, the Magnetic brand was founded by writer and video game veteran Mike Kennedy in 2013 as a label designed to showcase creators both new and established from around the world with an English-language audience often for the first time. Magnetic has earned over 20 Eisner Award nominations every year of eligibility since launching. Magnetic also won the Gold Medal of Excellence in the graphic novel category of the 2015 Independent Publisher Awards for Love: The Fox. Since 2020, Magnetic Press has launched and fulfilled over 20 successful campaigns on Kickstarter offering both deluxe edition graphic novels and art books as well as tabletop games and new media endeavors. Their freshman release of Carbon Grey: The RPG, based on the Image Comics series by Hoang Nguyen, ushered in their proprietary D6MV variant of the classic D6 Roleplaying Rules created by West End Games.
